Marmaris
The annual international sailing regattas are held here — in the azure sea of Marmaris. Tourists come here from all over the world to enjoy the flora and fauna listed in the Red Book. The city has three modern marinas for motor and sailing yachts: Netsel, Yat Marina, Adakoy. The first is located in the center of resort life, the second is remote from the city, and the third is a clubhouse.
This area of Turkey is quite cool. The maximum water temperature can reach 25 °C in August, while the air temperature is about 30-35 °C. Here you can dive to a depth of 50 m, visibility is usually up to 25-27 m. Freedivers can see a diverse underwater world.
The town and bay of Bozburun, famous for the construction of large Turkish gulets. Kumlubuk Beach and the azure coves of Ciftlik, Bozukkale, Inbukyu, Selimie, Aquarium. Paradise and Jagged Islands, Adabogazy, Sedir (Cleopatra), Greek — Simi. The sunken city of Amos, Hisarenyu Nature Reserve. The coast offers views of the Greek islands, including some of the largest Rhodes, Kastellorizo and Simi.
Cape Khaitli is a reef where you can dive to 5-35 m. Perfect for beginners and experienced freedivers. Here you will see a rich marine fauna and remains of the ancient world.
Sary Mehmet Cape is a cape and bay suitable for all divers. The depth ranges from 5 to 20 m, the bottom is rocky. The fauna is amazing in its diversity – you can meet flocks of sargs, tunas, moray eels and even octopuses. A great place for night dives, where you can slowly dive among the underwater reefs in the absence of currents.
Kechi Island Lighthouse-located at the exit to the open sea from Marmaris. The depth of 10-30 m, home to large fish, crayfish, octopus, as well as beautiful fish-cardinals. Fragments of ancient amphorae can be found at the bottom.
Cape Inje Lighthouse-located on the island of Ildiz, facing Marmaris. The depth is from 3 to 40 m, but visibility is low. Underwater photography enthusiasts love to dive here: at the end of summer, you can see colorful sponges, large tuna and small sea rabbits;
Fans of archaeological treasures and sea caves will surely appreciate the underwater world of this resort. It is home to turtles and dolphins, as well as barracudas.
Beginners will be shown the Basa cave at a depth of 5 m, where shrimps live.
Just below 15 m, professional divers can access Kadyrga Bay, where predatory fish live and broken amphorae have been stored since ancient Greece. Several beautiful reefs can be found at depths of up to 40 m. Not far from the lighthouse, at a depth of 15 m, there is a field of amphorae – in Hellenic times, a ship carrying vessels sank here. Flocks of small fish, moray eels, insects and crustaceans live nearby.
